The Dewey Decimal Classification System

The Dewey Decimal Classification system is used in Libraries all around the world to classify and arrange non-fiction books. It was first used in 1876 in the United States by Melvil Dewey, whom the system is named after. The system is structured around ten main classes covering the entire world of knowledge. Each main class is divided into ten sections and each of these sections are divided into ten more sections of increasing specificity.
